First of all, our source only picks the leaves from older mature trees in the jungles of Borneo, they usually climb all the way to the top of the trees to get the most mature leaves. Once the leaves are picked they are sorted thru by hand to remove any stems and then hand wash and hung to dry. 

99% of the stem and vein of the kratom leaves are removed and then milled into it's current smooth flour like consistency.

    I had been purchasing the red maeng da, and although it helped my chronic pain, my bariatric stomach didn't like it much.
    I received some samples of the green maeng da and decided to give it a try. I get all the same pain relief, but a lot less stomach upset.
